Scott Wells
“As long as I have any choice, I will only stay in a country where political liberty, toleration, and equality of all citizens before the law are the rule.”
-Albert Einstein
I have one professional goal. To advocate for those in need. As a member of the State Bar of Texas, the State Bar of Oklahoma, the American Bar Association, the Dallas Bar Association, the Defenses Research Institute, as well as being admitted to practice in the United States District Courts for the Eastern and Western Districts of Oklahoma, I am committed to my clients’ needs.
I obtained my law degree from the University of Tulsa in June of 2000, my Master's Degree in Public Administration from Florida State University in 1994 and my Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science from James Madison University in 1992. While in law school I attended University College Dublin in Dublin, Ireland where I studied International Family Law and International Trade and Economics. I also attended the Universidad de Palermo in Buenos Aires, Argentina where I studied International Human Rights, International Constitutional law and International Corporate Law.
Shortly following law school I became an Assistant District Attorney in Denton County, Texas, where I successfully tried numerous cases to verdict. Following my years as an Assistant District Attorney and having risen to the position of Chief Prosecutor, I moved to Dallas, Texas to work for a nationally recognized firm. Specializing in toxic tort and environmental litigation, I traveled coast to coast representing various national and international clients where I gained invaluable experience in multiple legal jurisdictions.
With a passion for helping people in need, I ultimately decided to leave the corporate world and return to what I feel is my professional calling. With a primary focus on criminal, family, personal injury and employment law, I invite you to call for a free consultation to discuss how I may be your legal advocate.
Who is C. Scott Wells?
It is my opinion that when you hire someone to do a job, it is only fair that you know a bit about the person you are hiring. Prior to becoming an attorney, I had a great deal of work and life experiences. I have worked as a Medical Disability Examiner for the State of Florida and as an Appeals Level Hearing Officer for the Texas Workforce Commission. Both of these experiences gave me a wealth of insight into the daily struggles of so many people. I feel it is my duty, as a citizen of Dallas and the Great State of Texas, to give back to my community. Over the years I have been involved in a number of community-minded organizations. I have had the pleasure of teaching young Dallas ISD students about our legal system during our annual Law Day celebration. I have also been intricately involved in fundraising for the Sarah T. Hughes Diversity Scholarships Program that helps minority students achieve their educational dreams. Currently I am working with Dallas’ Habitat for Humanity because I believe everyone should have a proper place to live. In a world where we see and hear far too much negative news, I believe it is imperative that all of us lend a helping hand to our friends and neighbors in need. What we give is far more rewarding than what we receive.
